About This Trail
The trail enters Rajaji National Park to reach the summit, Elephant Campsite. The park was created by a fusion between Rajaji Shrine, the Motichur Shrine, and the Pauri Forest Division's Chilla range.
The park marks the northern limits of the Asiatic elephant corridor, which is one of the safe havens for jumbos in the country. It also includes the Shivalik ranges and tiger conservation near the foothills of the Himalayas. It is a paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The park is home to elephants, tigers, leopards, deers, and ghorals, and a wide variety of birds and is known for its scenic beauty and rich bio-diversity. The trail has various viewpoints from where one can see the spectacular Shivalik ranges and birdwatchers.
A word of caution do not wander in this region during the evening as this region is known to be home to many leopards, tigers, and elephants. Trailhead for this particular trail lies near Tani Waterfalls which can be reached by many different modes of transports such as buses, taxis, cabs, or private vehicles
